Maths Obssessed

I'm currently reading a book entitled "What is Mathematics" by Richard Courant and Herbert Robbins. Perhaps you may think that it sounds stupid but i find it interesting as it has lot's of different views about maths that i have never thought of.
These are some quotes from the book which i find really meaningful:
~Formal mathematics is like spelling and grammar-a matter of the correct application of local rules. Meaningful mathematics is like journalism-it tells an interesting story but unlike some journalism, the story has to be true. The best mathematics is like literature-it brings a story to life before your eyes and involves you in it, intellectually and emotionally.
~Mathematics is an expression of the human mind reflects the active will, the comtemplative reason, and the desire for aesthetic perfection.
