It's just a dead piece of paper with musical notes and black lifeless piano. The pianist is the one that gives the notes life and makes the piano sing~! There won't be great composers without great performers that can actually bring out the music.

I so feel like I want to do some recording!! Have been practising 2 of Brahms rhapsodies and one of his intermezzos recently.. and i just realise that all my recordings or songs that i actually prepare to record are romantic period works~!

Guess it's only romantic period works that actually allow the player to add in his/her style and individuality! Untill now, i still don't understand barouqe and classical works well. Classical is filled with simplicity, singable melody and most of the time straight forward rhythm~! Barouqe is famour for its polyphonic texture and highly ornamental melody! Both are so... not me!!

hmmph.. shall i?? pay for rm120 for that recording studio again? but sometimes it's kinda boring if you are so nervous that you keep making mistakes and you can't even get a part recorded after one whole hour! even the sound engineer got so fed up!! hahaha

Actually i'm kinda wasting my time! I should be practising oboe more than piano but i just don't feel like it!! Piano is always my favourite instrument. I can just sit in front of my piano and move my fingers and will never get tired after playing for hours... but i just can't do that for oboe! i can't prac on my own for hours coz it's so boring and tiring (and i think my neighbours will start throwing rotten eggs if i do that!) unless i'm playing in a band or orchestra!

anyway, i think it's a challenge to do things you don't really enjoy! yeah, so i'm taking the challenge to give my life some spice! prac oboe!! =p
