so I was in London yesterday.. a visit to one of the world's top investment bank is such an eye opener for me~!

was a great experience~! and those ppl treated us really good... they gave talks about IB, have trading games with us, and a business case study.. we then proceed to visit the trading floor...

always thought i would like something so fast paced and challenging always running with the time.. but the visit yesterday made me realise that i don't actually fancy that so much!

talk about the volatile stock market and the amount of headlines you receive every minute!
given one billion sterling pounds and u are to invest! decision has to made within seconds if not the market will move again.. should u buy/sell USD/Euros? a wrong decision will not only make the bank loose millions but u'll loose the job as well... talk about stress mannnn!!

omg! that's really crazy... a visit to the trading floor.. now i know why are IBankers so high paid! the amount of pressure u have to bare with, the 12-16hours of work a day non stop no lunch no tea no break, looking at 3-6 computer screens and answering couple of phone calls with other phones ringing AT ONCE, treating the office as ur home with all ur toothbrush and facial wash in the office washroom! the busy hectic trading floor i use to see on TV actually exists in real life and is much more complicated and busy than it seems!

IBankers really don't have a life despite the high salary they have to spend merely on weekends which i suppose they have to sleep through due to lack of sleep throughout the week...!!

we actually "worked" unofficially for half a day which is for the trading game and the business case study! the pressure u face to read all the headlines and to make decision within seconds, plus the hard to solve business cases.. from 2-5pm sitting in the same meeting room with the same team for so long! by the time i come out, i'm just totally lost and exhausted!

the seriousness in the office where you hardly talk or get to know ur colleagues is such a sad case my goodness!

i think IBankers really don't have a life! besides thinking about $$$ and how to earn more $$$ each and every second! or at least IBankers in such a huge establish bank in the world's leading financial area - London really have no life!

sad working world they're in....

i prefer retail/commercial banking! =)))
