Easter trip: DAY 05

Saturday, March 29, 2008

Vienna:
- Belvedere Garden
- Schoenbrunn Palace and Gardens

we bought an all day pass the Vienna underground, U-ban..
their one day pass means 24hours(ie say u first use it at 11am today then i'll be valid till 10.59am tmr).. cool rite?
actually, u dun need to buy ur ticket coz anyone can just enter.. I don't know how did the undergrd survive till today!

their undergrd station...

an old tram and a new tram.. side by side..

so here we are...

the Belvedere Garden....

the other side of the garden.. they are re-planting the flowers for summer..

a nice building in the middle of the garden.. everything is made of marble in there!

our lunch place.. just opposite the garden..

tried on Viennese most famous choc cake - Sachertorte.. though it looks ordinary, it taste extra-ordinary!

next stop: Shoenbrunn Palace
it's Easter day! that's why there's a huge Easter market outside..

the nice Gardens behind the palace..

Note: we didn't go into the palace coz you need to pay! =p

still failed after so many attempts.. now u know how come i have so many pics in my cam!

the Palace behind me!

this girl is really cute! i heard her shouting: 엄마 엄마 사진 찍어어어...!! ('mummy, mummy take me!!') while running across the gardens!

there's a little hill facing the palace..

when u r up there, u can see the palace and the city! really scenic..!

there's a maze! i wonder if the prince/princesses actually play around in the maze!

then me and nicole headed off to see Schubert's residence while the rest spend their time walking around the garden..

on the way.. what's the golden thingy in the middle of that tower?

here we are:
Shubert's house.. it's rather big! but he only took one room upstairs.. downstairs used to be classrooms as his father runs a school..

his piano!

the main door..

his house..

then on the way back.. we found:

pizza!! it's spinach with goats cheese.. a huge piece for only 1.80euros! CHEAP!!! and really nice!

some random building we though look nice in the dark..

here we are!
Johanne Brahms statue in Karlsplatz.. (this pic is taken using the nightmode of my cam!)

they should clean the statue a bit! =p

Vienna river side.. it's seriously nothing compared to salzburg! haha.

the streets at night...

the Palace.. so grand!!!!!!

head back to the apartment after that.. and food was ready!

DAY 06: Hungary - Budapest!!
