so I've reached Bristol International Airport yesterday evening local time here.

This place is lovely.. very hilly, filled with lot's of green.. typical British country side that you may see in any travelling brochures or books.... it's not over-rated at all.

However, I may not call this a city. Although the size of the town is much bigger than Bath(15minutes away by train), it's sitll relatively small. I can recog most of the roads and streets after walking around one whole day.

The university is at a top of a hill.. lot's of climbing to do. but yet, it's really nice..!! My hall, The Hawthorns is just about 5 minutes walk away from the maths department...

There's no complaint at all regarding this place as it's really scenic with nice and friendly people, not many asians walking around, chilling weather, great food etc etc

Till i got to my room in Hawthonrs.. okay let be give you a very detailed description.

First of all, students are not allowed to use the main entrance. We are suppose to go in through the backdoor which is called the students entrance. To get in from there, you need to pass by 5 HUGE GARBAGE BINS.. or tanks... then it's like a back alley..

Next, you need to walk up appoximately 15 steps using a metal see through staircase with rasty sides and filled with green parasites that grows in moist! eeewww!!!

When you get in, you'll still have a tough time because you need to pass several steps, up and down turn left and right. The walkway is very small, low ceiling and very bad lightings.. Perhaps it's too old that the bulbs don't work properly or its vo;tage is way too low!

okay, once I've gone through that 'maze'. I finally reach my room. It has a small window in proportionate to the big and empty room. The wallpapers are thorn, the ceiling looks as if it'll fall anytime and the carpet is filled with stains.. migosh!! it's very dark. not enough light coz the window is too small in proportionate to the room.

don't ask me how many rooms are there on a floor coz it's just a little platform with 2 rooms there then you have to go through turns and staircases b4 reaching the other room.

Laundry is in the other building next door and the kitchen is the same thing where you have to go through staircases and turns b4 reaching it.

I really don't like the place even though it's just a mere 5 minutes walk to my faculty.

Took a cab and went to Stoke Bishop. 45 minutes walk from my faculty where most of the student halls are located.

That's a great area to live I tell you. and I really wana move there despite walking 45 mintues to uni everyday.. the rooms are nice and you have a great student community!

wish me luck that i get to swap with someone but it's gotta b at least 2 weeks.. ishhh!!

but other than that, everything is GREAT!! i mean really GREAT and nice.. the people, the uni, the food, the department, the town....

no regrets coming here.. =))
